Our History

Every company starts with a person, an idea, a commitment, and lots of hard work. Critical Process Filtration is no exception to the rule. After many years of working for major manufacturers in the filtration industry, Fred Arbogast envisioned a company that would provide products and expertise to companies running filtration operations that were critical to their success and consumer safety. He understood the serious nature of protecting pharmaceutical and food production processes from contaminants and the process engineer’s need for technical information and support.  An entrepreneur at heart, Mr. Arbogast along with Kristen Ramalho responded to the needs of the market by answering the challenges customers faced with large corporations, specifically, long lead times and access to technical expertise. In 1998, Critical Process Filtration was born and shipped its first product.

It wasn’t long before the early stage manufacturer went from supplying distributors to serving multiple industries. Changes in the market opened the doors of opportunity as companies sought new suppliers for their filtration needs. 

Critical Process Filtration was well positioned to answer the market demands and what began as a self-certified operation grew to a standards-based



manufacturer with the implementation of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and has grown exponentially over the years in both manufacturing space and capacity.

The company’s mission was clear at its inception and it hasn’t changed since. More than two decades later, Critical Process Filtration provides made-to-order, high-quality filtration solutions that include technical support from initial inquiry through installation and the life of the operation, along with the company’s “secret sauce” of fast delivery times. Its broadening product lines, automation, dedicated workers and customization of products have all contributed to their success. Today, if you ask management about the greatest lesson learned in growing their business, the answer is clear, “You don’t get a second shot, so it's imperative that you get it right the first time.”
