Sterilizing is critical to a product's quality, safety and shelf life. As a part of the formulation and filling process, sterile filtration removes spoilage organisms like heat-resistant molds and other microbes. Removing bacteria upstream with bioburden control filters will have removed some bacteria, but not all.
Critical Process Filtration sterilizing solutions are used in wine, beer, clear juices, bottled water and other products to remove biological contaminants before packaging. These membrane filters are integrity tested and validated.
